On Saturday, four Maoists, including two females were killed in an encounter by security forces in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.
In a forest near Pomra village, a gunfight took place around 7:30 am when security forces were out on an operation against the Maoists as said by Inspector General of Police, Sundarraj P.
The operation involved security personnel like the District Reserve Guard (DRG), the Special Task Force (STF), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), it was carried out on the information about the presence of the Divisional Committee members of Maoists namely – Mohan Kadti and Sumitra with other 30-40 colleagues in the Pomra- Hallur forest which is distanced at over 400 km from Raipur.
When the DRG was patrolling in the forest, a gunfight broke out, said an official.

The IG said, “After the exchange of fire stopped, bodies of four Maoists, including two women, along with three weapons, including a 303 rifle and a 315 bore rifle, were recovered from the spot.”
Identification of the killed was still to be found, adding further he said the search operation was still underway in that area.
