The Award show honored some of the best talents from Hollywood alongside two Indian origin artists, musician Ricky Kej and Indian American singer Falguni Shah, creating a proud moment for Indians across the globe.
Ricky bagged the award along with Stewart Copeland for ‘Devine Tides’ in the Best New Age Album category. Falguni Shah aka Falu took home the trophy for Best Children’s Music Album. The New York-based singer was last nominated for a Grammy in the same category for her 2018 album – Falu’s Bazaar.
Catching their reactions
Kej who shared the award with Stewart Copeland said, “I grew up with his music. I grew up with his posters on my wall and today I’ve won a Grammy along with him. It’s absolutely amazing.”
This is the second Grammy for the Indian musician. He won his first one at the 57th Grammy ceremony in 2015 for ‘Winds of Samsara’, which was a collaboration with South African flutist Wouter Kellerman. Falguni expressed her gratitude by sharing photos from the Grammys 2022 along with a social media post that said,
“I have no words to describe today’s magic. What an honor to perform for the opening number of the GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony, and then take home a statue on behalf of all the incredible people who worked on A Colorful World.”
Grammy 2022 was a successful event where some of the biggest artists in the world put on a show. The performance lineup for the 64th Grammy Awards included BTS, Brothers Osborne, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, and Olivia Rodrigo. The ceremony was streamed by the CBS Television Network.
