Just four days after dissolving all the State party Unit Gujarat, AAP has appointed 850 new office bearers for Gujarat polls. This step is a part of the party’s preparation for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.
AAP has prepared a new organizational structure. It has promoted former TV journalist Isudan Gadhvi and ex-Congress MLA Indranil Rajguru. They have been appointed as national joint general secretary and joint secretary respectively.
The Aam Aadmi Party In-charge and MP Sandeep Pathak said that the party carried out a Parivartan Yatra with all its party leaders from the state. Further, he claimed that it passed through all 182 constituencies in Gujarat and got a thundering response from the common public. Also, he continued that the people are looking for hope from the party. He has seems confident that AAP is for the upcoming elections. Moreover, he claims the competition for Gujarat Assembly elections will be between AAP and Gujarat.
‘Gamdu Baithak’
Sandeep Pathak is said to be the strategist behind the massive win of AAP in Punjab. He further said AAP has been organising ‘Gamdu Baithak’ where they have conducted dialogues in nearly 10,000 villages. So, he concluded that the conversations have made them realise that the people of Gujarat want to change with an alternative for BJP which can be AAP.
Bid to win Gujarat Polls
The AAP has been confident to win Gujarat polls after it scored 27 seats against BJP winning 93 seats in the Surat Municipal Corporation elections. In those elections, Congress failed to secure a seat. Since then it has been trying to set a base for a win in Gujarat. Even winning in other bypolls and massive win of Punjab has been a boost for it. It can be a worrying factor for Congress and BJP.
The AAP has been working on the ground level to build a base for the party in the state. On the other hand, Congress has received multiple setbacks after many of its leaders have switched sides and went into the BJP including Patidar leader Hardik Patel.
Summing up,
AAP can inflict damage to Congress in Gujarat, but BJP might largely remain in a strong position. Gujarat is the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and the party is confident to win the state.
