In the year 2017 Gurmeet ram Rahim was convicted in rape case and was sent to 20 years of imprisonment for raping two women who were the followers of Ram Rahim in the ashram in Sirsa. The court granted him one month of parole, earlier in February the chief of the ashram was granted three weeks of temporary leave from the jail. CBI court convicted him of the rape case in august 2017. A FIR was lodged in Rohtak jail. According to the sources Ram Rahim will most probably visit the ashram in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhagpat. During this period, the court has not allowed him to visit anyone except his family members. Z Plus security has been given to Ram Rahim during his 21day release. There is a threat to his life from pro-Khalistan elements so that is the reason he has been given high level security. Last year he was also convicted of creating a plan to kill the manager of the ashram I.e., Ranjit Singh in the year 2002. He was also convicted of the murder of a journalist who is 16 years old and also, he was found guilty of these killings.
