Ambala: The crime investigation agency (CIA)-I of Ambala police had arrested three accused of murdering a man at Philadelphia Mission hospital in Ambala city. The accused includes a woman journalist and two men.Ā
The accused were identified as Vikas alias Shivi, a resident of Khanpur Rajputana village in Narayangrah block of Ambala district; Amit, a resident of 12 Cross Road, Ambala cantonment; and Reeta Sharma, a woman journalist at a language daily.Ā
On Monday, all three accused were presented at the district court, where Vikas and Amit were given five days police remand, and Reeta was given two days remand.Ā
On February 26th, it came to a notice that Aman alias Gappu of Ram Kishan Colony, Ambala cantonment, was shot to death outside the ICU of the hospital by a suspect named Bunty Kaushal of Ambala district.Ā
The mother of the deceased, Babli, had filed a complaint against the four accused Bunty, Reeta, Vikas Gupta and Vikas alias Shivi. On February 26th, a case was registered under Section 34 (common intention), Section 302 (punishment for murder), and Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25 of the Arms Act at Baldev Nagar police station.Ā
Taking the murder case seriously, the Superintendent of Police (SP), Ambala, had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Additional SP Pooja Dabla, including in-charge of CIA-I andĀ Baldevnagar police Station House Officer (SHO).Ā
The CIA-I had carried on the three arrests, including Amit, who was not mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR). The arrests of the main accused, Vikas Gupta and Bunty, are pending.Ā
On Monday, the post-mortem of Aman was directed at the civil hospital, Ambala city, and the last rituals were also executed.Ā
