In the film Akshay Kumar plays the character of the legendary warrior of Prithviraj Chauhan who fought to protect India from the invader Muhammad of Ghor.
Delhi High Court disposed a plea against Akshay Kumar’s recently released movie Samrat Prithviraj. The plea was regarding Akshay Kumar allegedly depicted as a Rajput King; the plea claims that the king was not a Rajput king but a Gujar King.
The plea was disposed by a division bench of acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and justice Sachin Dutta after which Yash Raj film issued a statement clarifying that the film is neutral and throughout the film, the cast of the ruler is not referred to as whether Rajput or Gujar.
A Grievance plea was filed by the Gujar Samaj Sarv Sangthan Sabha Ekta Samantha Samiti with the help of advocate Rakesh Kumar. In the petition, it stated that the film is based on the book written by the famous and known poet Chand Bardai Bardot.
The book was titled ‘Prithviraj Raso,’ and talked about the tales of the great King Prithviraj Chauhan as a Gujar warrior. Thus, depicting him as a Rajput kind in the film was wrong and not according to history.
Even after the claims of the ruler being depicted as a certain cast, Solicitor general Chetan Sharma appeared to the central board of film certification and talked in favor of the film and Yash Raj films that in the movie it is not depicted which caste the ruler belongs to.
In the film, Akshay Kumar plays the legendary warrior who fought to protect India from the invader Muhammad of Ghor. Manushi Chiller will debut in this film and can be seen playing the role of Princess Sanyogita. The movie is set to release on June 3rd,2022.
Ahead of the movie’s release states in India have declared the movie tax-free. The states are Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as it talks about the rich history of our country and provides entertainment at the same time. Whereas the film has been banned in Kuwait and Oman.
