On the occasion of his 40th birthday, Honey Singh revealed that a new Netflix documentary will be out later this year. The project titled “bare-it-all docu-film” will give an insight into Yo Yo Honey Singh’s life after he abruptly took a break from the music industry. The singer’s absence stunned the industry and fans since he was at his peak then.
Yo Yo Honey Singh admitted discussing his personal and career troubles in the public previously. But he added that he has never been able to “bare it all”. Honey Singh said that he received enormous affection from his followers, and they deserve to know the complete story.
Born as Hirdesh Singh in New Delhi, Honey Singh entered the music industry in 2003 as a Punjabi rapper. He gave hits like Brown Rang, Desi Kalakaar, and Blue Eyes by the year 2011. He also sang for Bollywood movies like Fugly, Sonu ke Titu ki Sweetie, and Chennai Express.
Honey Singh soon rose to fame and then retreated away from the entertainment industry in 2015. He has returned to singing and composing in the last few years.
The documentary on the singer-composer’s life is being directed by Mozez Singh and produced by Guneet Monga who recently won an Oscar for her documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers.
Monga shared the documentary’s teaser on her own Instagram account and showed her excitement about the upcoming project which is being made under her banner Sikhya Entertainment.
Monga stated that she had always wanted to learn more about Yo Yo Honey Singh as his music resonates with the youth. Singh was a star even before he got limelight in the press. His roller-coaster journey with fame intrigued a whole nation and Sikhya.
Monga said that the Bare-it-all docu-film is a story that she wanted to explore. Since Netflix has always supported and given unique local stories to a global audience, it is a perfect fit for an authentic docu-film like this.
Monga further added that she is excited to introduce the man behind the country’s rap and hip-hop music and look into the journey that led to his clout, and the controversies that followed.
On Instagram, the singer and Netflix India sent out a video in which Honey Singh raps in a voiceover and states that the life that God has given him has depth to it.
It reminds him of his younger self and now he will tell the world his story. Clips from Honey’s performances on stage can also be seen in the teaser along with the singer’s recording in the music studio.
From the looks of the teaser, it appears that Honey will be opening up about certain highs and lows of his life. The documentary will also include interviews with his family members, friends, and music collaborators who stayed by his side. The release date for the project has not been finalized yet.
