Nagaland’s hornbill festival is set to take place after a gap of 2 years due to the COVID -19 pandemic.

This festival would be celebrated in the Indian State of Nagaland from December 1 to December 10. This festival was first organized in 2000. This time it would be hosted at the naga Heritage Village, Kisama which is about 12 km from Kohima, the capital of Nagaland.
It is called the “festivals of the festival” and is a 10-day long annual cultural event showcasing Naga ethnicity through folk dances, traditional music, local cuisines, handicraft, art workshops, etc.
It aims at promoting the tribal culture and business of Naga heritage. This festival coincides with Nagaland statehood day, December 1.
It derives its name from the Indian bird name hornbill that lives in the state forest of Nagaland. This festival aims to revive and protect the rich culture of Nagaland and display its rich culture and tradition.
