With the help of South Korean TV shows which are also popular as k-dramas and with social networking services the current spread of k-pop and South Korean entertainment is known as Korean Wave and this is not only seen in Southeast Asia and East Asia but also in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Latin America, North Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa and the Middle East and in the whole Western world, they are gaining a huge amount of international audience.
The most popular Korean bands are BTS, Blackpink, Exo, Twice, Aespa, Ateez, TXT, Seventeen, Got7, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Monsta X, Astro, G-idle, and Itzy as well. There are also some soloists who are very popular worldwide like IU and Jessi.
The korean music industry, they have music production houses, event management companies, music distributors, and other merchandise and service providers. These things also include the popular fan meets or fan signs as well in which people get the chance to meet their idols.
BigHit Entertainment, YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment are the most popular and successful companies to date in the Korean music industry. These record labels are also representative agencies of the artists. YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment are considered or also known as the ‘ Big Three ‘ as well.
The companies function and are responsible for recruiting, financing, training, and marketing new artists and at the same time managing the musical activities and public relations of the same.
The k-pop industry and k-pop groups have a huge fandom in the whole world and all the korean band groups have their own name for their fans like BTS has Army, Blackpink has Blinks, Ateez has Atiny, etc. because of their huge fan following the band’s become so popular and famous and successful at the same time which is ruling the music industry of today’s time.
K-pop band groups also have a huge contribution to the economy of South Korea. South Korea achieved an increasing rate in the country’s economy because of the k-pop music industry. Because of the popularity of k-pop, the tourism rate in South Korea also increased rapidly.
Nowadays people are more likely to visit and travel to South Korea just because of the influence of k-pop. More than eight lakh people visit South Korea as a tourist which is very beneficial to the country and its economy as well.
The hard work of idols behind this is that they have to learn and work continuously for so many hours without even resting. They practice their music or singing with dancing which requires so much hard work.
They also have some strict rules to maintain their physique as well, for which sometimes they have to starve themselves without eating anything and maintaining their weight. Physical appearance and looks really matter in this industry
K-pop has some harsh realities but at the same time, there is the hard work of idols and companies behind their popularity and success internationally.
