At that event, Hrithik Roshan said that the idea of turning his hit movie āKoi… Mil Gayaā into a franchise came to his father Rakesh Roshan’s mind after binge-watching the movie Lord of the Rings.
Hrithik Roshan also added that his father Rakesh Roshan directed all the three films of the Krrish franchise and they also wanted to expand the idea of the same and to make a universe of the same, just like the author JRR Tolkien had done in his books.

After that, his father, Rakesh Roshan, called him and said he wanted to make a movie like this by expanding their previously released favorite and successful movie Koi… Mil Gaya. The actor said that if there is no Lord of the Rings then there is no Krrish.Ā
