External affairs minister said in talks with Csaba Korosi, president of the 77th session of the UNGA at UN headquarters in New York that India pledges full support to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and commitment to multilateralism.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda for the global process was one of the highlights of the discussions between the UNGA president and Jaishankar.
He arrived at the UN headquarters in New York on Sunday for the high-level meeting of the UNGA and is likely to meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and several other heads of state later this week.

Jaishankar held a set of bilateral talks with his counterparts in the Balkans, Europe and the Caribbean, Middle East, and Asia as part of beginning a jam-packed diplomatic week in New York, ahead of the UNGA meeting.
Earlier, Jaishankar held discussions with the UAE foreign minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and appreciated his insights on the global situation as a review of the gamut of bilateral strategic partnership between the two nations.
External Affairs minister S Jaishankar also participated in a trilateral Ministerial meeting of India-UAE-France with its counterparts and exchanged ideas between the strategic partners.
The Indian minister is scheduled to deliver India’s address at UNGA on the meeting on the theme, “A Watershed Moment: Transformative Solutions to Interlocking Challenges” on Saturday.
Security Council reforms will be the top priority on Jaishankar’s agenda and are expected to get a boost during the session as US President Joe Biden is going to present ideas for reforms and consult other leaders.
He is also scheduled to host a meeting of the foreign ministers of G4, the group of India, Brazil, Germany, and Japan that advocate for expanding the Council and mutually support each other’s claim for a permanent seat.
