According to the official website of the union health ministry, India recorded 900 cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, 20% more than the day before, and 5,335 new ailments in the previous 24 hours. For the first time since September of last year, there were more than 5,000 instances. 25,587 instances were still present and active, making up 0.5% of all illnesses.

According to the minister, it was the biggest increase in a single day in almost six months with 4,435 new infections.
The recovery percentage is 98.75 percent, and the number of active cases currently represents 0.6% of the overall caseload. 2,826 recoveries have been made in the last day, bringing the total to 4,41,82,538.
The steady increase in daily case numbers over the past few weeks has alarmed federal and local officials. The officials have been conducting review sessions to determine whether the healthcare system is prepared to handle an increase in cases.
In an interview, Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, stated that the government is ready to handle an increase in Corona cases. He said there is a weekly assessment of readiness and that critical care plans, such as oxygen supplies, ICU beds, and other apparatus, are in place.
The number of instances has risen even in the national capital. Yesterday, 509 new cases were reported in Delhi, and the detection rate reached 26.54 percent, the highest level in nearly 15 months.
According to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, the Delhi government is monitoring the rise in Covid cases in the city and is ready to fight the situation.
The Kashmir health department announced a practice exercise to test pandemic preparedness on Monday as a result of a slight increase in Covid-19 infections in the union territory. Additionally, it has been asked of the officials that more testing be done and that flu clinics be established at all medical institutions.
With 31 infections on Tuesday, 29 of which were in Kashmir, the union territory saw a small rise in Covid-19 cases. Nearly half of the 40 and 19 instances, respectively, that were recorded on Monday and Sunday were all but one from Kashmir.
Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh stated on Wednesday that the government was ready to handle any scenario despite a small increase in Covid-19 cases in recent days.
Masks should be worn outside, especially in congested areas, the minister urged the people.
He advised those who are immunocompromised or showing symptoms of Covid, such as a cold or cough, to take additional precautions and postpone venturing outside until an emergency.
He announced that the Punjab health department would perform a mock exercise on April 10 and 11 in the state to guarantee Covid preparedness, as per instructions from the Union government.
On Tuesday, Punjab experienced a spike in new coronavirus cases, reaching 73. After Mohali, which had 22 instances, Jalandhar had 14 and Ludhiana had 11 incidences. According to a medical report, the state had 396 current instances as of April 4, and the positivity rate was 3.27%.
The state’s critical care units and respiratory care units are both empty of Covid patients, the health minister claims, and everything is in order.
Following a recent increase in Covid cases, both the federal government and state governments have urged people to exercise caution.
