Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar lauded the Indian diaspora in the UK, India’s democracy, infrastructure, education, and judiciary during an interaction with the Indian community. He emphasized India’s transformation under PM Narendra Modi, with the empowerment of the common man and growth in infrastructure.
Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar praised the Indian diaspora in the United Kingdom for their contributions to society and for strengthening the relationship between India and the UK.
During an interaction with the Indian community in the UK on Saturday, he highlighted that India is proud of its diaspora, which comprises 24×7 ambassadors of Bharat, and that their contribution exemplifies their full commitment to their Karmabhoomi (adopted country) and Janmabhoomi (homeland).
India’s Democracy & Infrastructure Thrive
Dhankhar also lauded India’s democracy as the most functional on any global parameters, adding that the executive, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has transformed one-sixth of humanity to an unimaginable level of all societal parameters that alleviate people’s suffering.
Vice President Dhankhar further highlighted the significant growth in infrastructure that could never be dreamed of earlier, whether it’s in roads, railways, air, or technological connectivity. He stated that empowering the common man is taking place, and India has become a ground reality.
India’s digital payment transactions amounted to INR 1.5 trillion in 2022, with 700 million internet users transforming India’s service delivery system to a level that was never imagined before, according to the Vice President.
Lauds Transparency, Accountability, Delivery
Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized that a sense of transparency, accountability, and delivery is the new mantra in India, and the power corridors have been sanitized of power brokers. Further, the Vice President mentioned that 110 million farmers are getting an amount equivalent to INR 2 lakh 20,000 crores directly into their accounts three times a year without any middleman, which has brought about revolutionary change.
Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted the National Education Policy’s evolution after 34 years and said that education is the most effective and potent transformational mechanism that takes care of inequities in society, brings about the emancipation of the vulnerable, and empowers the youth.
Lauding the Indian judiciary, Dhankhar mentioned that the judiciary in India is “strong” from the apex court down the line. He highlighted that the reach of the Indian judiciary for the common man has no parallel.
India’s Democracy, Judiciary and Institutions
He praised the Chief Justice of India as one of the most enlightened souls, a man who brings to the table vast experience, commitment, passion, mission, and enormous talent. Dhankhar emphasized that it takes him no time to grant relief to an ordinary man.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar stressed that Indian democracy is functioning at a level unmatched anywhere in the world, with the Constitution providing a constitutional mechanism at the village, municipal, state, central, and cooperative levels.
Dhankhar praised India’s parliamentarians, stating that those who get elected to the House of the People face the toughest test. Those in the upper house are also very talented, and India is proud of its parliamentarians. Dhankhar stated that Indian institutions are spinally independent.
India’s COVID Achievements: Pride for Indians
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar urged Indians to take pride in their historic accomplishments, citing India’s tackling of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the development of vaccines and their exports worldwide.
Jagdeep Dhankhar praised India’s leadership, saying that India has the highest global trust of all countries in the world, according to a study by Edelman. He also stressed that India has become the pharma hub of the world and is supplying medicines to 150 countries.
