The government of Indonesia has made the introduction of a 10 year Visa which permits foreigners with $130,000 to live and work in the paradise city of Bali or any other location in the country for a period of 5 to 10 years.
The country of Indonesia has introduced a new visa that extends upto a period of 10 years.
According to the regulation passed by the Indonesian government on Tuesday, the Southeast Asian paradise has released a proposal or an offering for tourists and foreigners from around the world to get the opportunity to live and work in the country via a special visa.
This special visa is a 10-year plan visa that allows or permits tourists and foreigners to stay in the country provided that they have an amount of $130,000 or 2 billion Indonesian rupiah in their bank accounts.
This visa is termed a “second home” visa for tourists and non-Indonesian natives alike.
The country is expected to enforce the new regulation on Christmas or 60 days after the dispersion of the new regulation.
This is a strategic move by the Indonesian government to maintain and fortify the economy of the Southeast Asian paradise.
It has placed its emphasis on the city of Bali to lure in more visitors and tourists belonging to or that come from wealthy and financially stable backgrounds.
During a ceremonial launch at the resort, the Acting Director General for Immigration Widodo Ekatjahjana, said that this 10 year Visa regulation or “second home” visa is not a financial inducement but rather a plan to help in the growth of the Indonesian economy.
In this case, the tourists or foreigners from different parts of the world will be able to make impactful contributions and augmentation of the Southeast Asian tourist hub.
Moreover, long-haul vacations or visits are not just subjected to Indonesia but some other countries in the world too.
Notably, Mexico and the Central American country, Costa Rica are all a part of the same wagon. All of these three countries offer long-term stays to tourists and foreigners.
This idea has been inculcated and endorsed by these countries in order to attract such tourists or foreign visitors.
More commonly or usually, these countries look for professionals, retirees and people that come from established and wealthy backgrounds.
There has been a booming demand for relocation options lately. Ever since the pandemic happened, companies have had their employees work from the safe and comforting confines of their own homes. Some of these workers would vacate to another country to work remotely.
These educated workers are referred to as digital nomads who come from various corners of the world and desire a quiet place to work remotely and freely within their own space.
Hence, countries like Indonesia, Mexico, and Costa Rica are planning to fulfill demands relating to said relocation options.Â
There have been schemes put in motion by the Indonesian government to introduce a digital nomad visa back in 2021. This visa will pivot on the attraction of foreign visitors and tourists to the paradise city of Bali.
