Jammu and Kashmir’s security forces were engaged in a shootout with 3 Lashkar-e-Taiba members. On Tuesday morning, the confrontation started, and more terrorists are currently being searched.
In Jammu and Kashmir, reports of a confrontation between militants and security officers have gained attention. The incident is happening in the Shopian district’s Munjh Marg neighbourhood.
It is still not clear how many terrorists there are in this area. The firing first started in Munjh Marg, in the Shopian district, where “operation all out” is currently being conducted and a big encounter with the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists has taken place. Reports say that 3 of them are confirmed dead.
According to a police officer, “Security forces began a search operation at Munjh Marg in the Zainapora neighbourhood of Shopian after receiving information of the terrorists present there. Later, the search operation became an encounter.”
Two of the terrorists were located in shopian. One was Lateef Lone from the same district and the other was named Umer Nazir from Anantnag. By the report of the security officer of Jammu and Kashmir, Till Bahadur Thapa a resident of Nepal was killed brutally by Umer Nazir while a Kashmiri Pandit named Purana Krishna Bhat’s murder was laid out by Lateef Lone.
The officers also grabbed two Ak47 riffles and pistols from the terrorists who was involved in the killing.

Today, a tweet appeared from Kashmir Zone Police in the morning confirming the deaths of the terrorists. The tweet reads :03 #terrorists linked with proscribed #terror outfit LeT killed. Identification being ascertained. Further details shall follow,”.
However, these clashes between terrorists and security personnel is occurring frequently for the past month. One of these clash happened on December 7 in the same Shopian neighbourhood.
Following there were reports of the presence of terrorists in Watho neighbourhood of Shopian, security personnel conducted a search and cordon operation. The militants who were hiding fired on the security personnel during the operation. There were no casualties reportedly reported that time.
The terrorists have participated in several recent operations. In support of the Legislation unlawful prevention act, Kashmir police filed a chargesheet against members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba group for engaging in “illegal operations.”
The members of this terrorist group were also detained on January 20, 2022, in the Chadoora area of the district carrying weapons and ammunition, including one pistol, according to Budgam Police.
Jahangir Ahmad Naikoo, a resident of Shopian’s Memander Village, was recognised as the terrorist who was caught in January. The investigation resulted in bringing criminal charges against the alleged terrorist under Sections 20, 23, and 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
In this matter Kashmir Police also stated that they produced the chargesheet against the alleged terrorist in front of the court after receiving the required approval from the appropriate authority. the terrorist is currently said to be present in Sri Nagar central jail.
The investigation is still going on in Shopian district. it is believed that there are more illegal activities taking place by the terrorists in the neigbourhood.
