On Thursday, Joe Biden, U.S. President, said that his administration consulted with India. It is in the process of resolving matters coming from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Earlier on Thursday, Russia started invasion [a military operation] in Ukraine in the early hours of the day.
When a reporter questions Joe Biden on whether India, a ‘Major Defense Partner’ of the U.S., responds, “We were in consultation with India today. We haven’t resolved that completely,” to a was in-sync with the U.S. on Russia.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin and had called for “the immediate cessation of violence.” India has been hesitant, including the United Nations Security Council, to condemn Russian aggression.
The matter of concern is India had purchased a $ 5billion missile defense system, the S-400 Triumf, from Russia. Even India is at risk of attracting U.S. sanctions – more so now than before Russia attacked Ukraine.
