Karan Johar harbours tremendous regrets in his personal life rather than in his professional life. Karan Johar is a well-known Bollywood director and producer. He is settled and has little to show for his 25-year great career.
KJo previously stated that he may never marry. But he has since acknowledged his feelings of loneliness.
During a chat with Film Companion, the filmmaker opened up about his love life. Karan stated that he regrets focusing on his personal life and that he is lonely.
The filmmaker is not married, yet he is the only parent of two children, Yash and Roohi. He had the twins through surrogacy in 2015, but he now wishes he had done it five years earlier.
A companion is essential
Karan Johar laments not having a life partner, stating that parents or children cannot fill the need left by a relationship.
Karan expressed his misgivings by saying, “I wish I’d concentrated a little more on my personal life.” I don’t believe I’ve done so. Today, I feel immensely fulfilled as a mom. And thank God I took that step, although five years too late. I wish I had done it sooner. But I feel like with all of this connection building, producer building, studio building, I let myself take a second seat in my personal life. ”
“The biggest regret I have is that I didn’t give that aspect of my life the priority that I believe it deserved at a specific moment in time,” the filmmaker said, “and now, I think it’s too late.” I believe it is too late for me to meet a life mate with whom I can go to the mountains for a quiet vacation or have someone hold my hand at times.
He said , “I don’t think a parent or a kid can ever replace what a life partner does for you,” he said. That, I believe, is saved for your soulmate, life partner, connection, romance, or whatever else it may be… That’s something I don’t have. There’s a void in my life, and it’s the source of my greatest regret.”
Karan Johar is currently filming Koffee with Karan 7, his popular discussion programme. He is also preparing for the impending release of Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Meanwhile, he is supervising the filming of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which is set to be released in February 2024.
