Popular 4th generation girl group, Kep1er had their first-ever comeback with their second mini-album, ‘Doublast’ after five-months.
Kep1er is a rookie girl group who debuted in the beginning of this year with ‘WA DA DA’, their title track from ‘First Impact.’ Kep1er released their second mini-album ‘Doublast’ on 20th June 2022. This is their first comeback since ‘First Impact’ which was 5 months ago.
Kep1er is back and the fans are ecstatic! This multinational rookie group had their first comeback ever. Kep1er finally released an album with the title song ‘Up!’ on Monday, June 20, 2022.
Aside from ‘Up!,’ the five-track ‘Doublast’ contains four B-sides: ‘LE VOYA9E,’ ‘Attention,’ Good Night, and Rewind. However, the album does not include the group’s most recent single, ‘The Girls (Can’t Turn Me Down),’ which was released for the finale of Queendom-2.
The girl group announced their comeback shortly after finishing their run as Queendom 2 contestants. A music video was also released for ‘Up!’ on the same day. “Up!” is a song about Kep1er reaching its dream island. With cute charm, combined with the vibrant colour background, the members express happiness in Kep1er Island.

“Up!” is a blend of rhythmic funk house, with powerful vocals and cute lyrics that highlight the refreshing summer vibe. The music video, which was released, depicts how each member enjoys the summer.
In particular, everyone performed a powerful dance break which raised expectations for the upcoming stages in the music programmes. Kep1er’s title track is called ‘UP!,’ and they’re dressed exactly like the little boy from the movie ‘Up.’
With powerful vocals, rhythmic rap, and attractive performance, they handle various genres and appeal to the individuality of 9 people and 9 colours.
“We received so much love for our debut song ‘WA DA DA,’ and we prepared really hard for this comeback to repay that love,” said Kep1er leader Yujin. “Twist. But if I were to express it in three words, I will use “rainbow”. I think it’s an album that can show the various charms of Kep1er.” said Bahiyyih.
‘Up!’ seems to have all the ingredients to be a K-Pop summer hit. It is fresh, colourful, full of joy and catchy. Plus, full of vibrant tones and addictive choreography. The members of the group are dressed in colours of the rainbow, embodying the summer concept.
Kep1er has an unquestionably capability of delivering. The song is good, and the post-chorus, ‘Up!’ evokes classic summertime energy.
During Monday’s showcase at the Yes 24 Live Hall in eastern Seoul’s Gwangjin District, Kep1er performed ‘Up!.’ According to Hanteo chart data, the album sold approximately 153,094 copies on the first day, a new record for the group. Whereas, their debut album, ‘First Impact’ sold 150,153 copies on the first day of release.

Kep1er (pronounced Kepler) is a nine-member girl group that formed as a result of the Mnet survival show Girls Planet 999. It is a nine-member girl group project under WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment. The members are Kim Chaehyun, Huening Bahiyyih, Choi Yujin, Kim Dayeon, Seo Youngeun, Kang Yeseo, Ezaki Hikaru, Sakamoto Mashiro and Shen Xiaoting.

The group won their first music show on M Countdown on January 13 with their debut song ‘WA DA DA,’ just 10 days after their debut.
