It was a crucial wicket and is of paramount importance since he was contributing big on the scoreboard. RCBās batting meets with absolute excellence. Although they lost the match, the team tried their best to reach the desired target on the scoreboard for their team. However, the match was not yet over, as the RCB had a deep batting lineup and Dinesh Karthik was starting to find his form.
Unfortunately for RCB, Suyash Prabhudesai made a poor decision and hesitated to respond to Karthik’s call for an easy second run, resulting in a run-out. Two overs later, Wanindu Hasaranga made the mistake of chasing a wide delivery from Andre Russell and was caught by a fielder at deep point. The final nail in the coffin was delivered in the 18th over when Karthik, aiming for a big hit, pulled Varun Chakaravarthy’s delivery straight to the fielder at deep midwicket. Despite starting with a run rate of 10 per over, RCB ended up losing the match by a margin of 21 runs. Ā
KKRās performance
Since KKR lost the toss, it was a situation to smash RCB bowlers on the ground and score a huge total on the scoreboard. They performed well in the start but in the mid they started to fall since RCB’s fielding was not up to the mark as they dropped Nitish Rana twice during his innings, allowed him to score a quickfire 48 off just 21 balls and revive KKR’s innings. However, RCB’s fast bowlers, Harshal Patel and Mohammed Siraj, kept them in the game by effectively using slower deliveries and yorkers. The standout performer amongst the bowlers was Wanindu Hasaranga, who dismissed both Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana, thereby bringing RCB back into the game.
Ā It was Mohammed Siraj who delivered an excellent yorker to Andre Russell, continuing his poor form as a batsman in this tournament. However, Rinku Singh refused to let that over affect KKR’s momentum as he smashed Siraj for two boundaries and a six in quick succession. In the final over, David Wiese hit two sixes, enabling KKR to reach the significant milestone of 200 runs. This marked a satisfying turnaround for KKR, as they scored 69 runs in the last five overs to end their innings on a high note.Ā
In the end, KKRās skillful bowling performance led the team to a big win against RCB restricting them to a total of 179/8 in 20 overs match at Chinnaswamy stadium and it was Varun Chakravarthy who became the Man of the Match.
