A bomb threat was received through a phone call to a hotel situated on the Delhi-Haryana border. There are many instances where hotels, institutions, and even famous personalities have received death threats, mass killing treats, and even bomb threats.
In broad daylight, Leela hotel which is situated at Gurugram’s Ambiance mall complex, Haryana-Delhi border gets a bomb threat over a call at around 11:35 am.
The 5- star hotel immediately informed the police about the threat. According to Vikas Kaushik, ACP DLF, nothing suspicious has been found in spite of searching for more than an hour.
According to sources from PTI, the call was made from a mobile number, which was found to be switched off. The call was later traced. Even the local authorities were told to be careful. For security purposes, the investigating authorities have sanitized the hotel.
When the police reached the spot, the hotel members were told to evacuate for safety. Apart from the hotel, nearby locations of the hotel were also sealed/cordoned temporarily for checking purposes. The call arrived on Tuesday morning. The call was further traced down.
According to the findings of the police, a 24-year-old autistic person was behind the entire scenario. The person is supposedly undergoing treatment for autism in a hospital in Gurugram itself.
Hotel Leela has been told to follow all the precautionary measures. Also, the security of the hotel should also be taken care of. As it was a bomb threat received at a hotel, police also brought a bomb squad was deployed. The bomb squad scrutinized the hotel carefully.
After an hour of searching, no suspicious object was found nor a suspicious activity was noticed. As it is a matter of concern for many lives present at the hotel and nearby locations, an FIR has been registered against the caller. If this activity is repeated, necessary actions would be taken against the culprit.
The investigating authorities have completely scrutinized the place and also sanitized the place. Full support from the team will be provided until the matter doesn’t gets resolved completely. After a complete check by the investigating agencies, the hotel has a permit to resume normally.
