Lisandro Martinez is set to rejoin former Ajax coach at the Manchester club.
Argentine center-back to join red devils for 55 million euros. Martinez was pushing the Ajax board to pen this deal as the former Ajax player wanted a new experience. Martinez and Manchester United have agreed on a 5-year-contract that will enable the red devils to acquire the service of Argentinian till the end of the 2027 season.
According to the mastermind of transfers Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United and Ajax held a meeting in Amsterdam on Wednesday regarding the transfer of Lisandro. On the same day, all things regarding this deal were finalized. Erik Ten Hag was a key factor in the signing of Martinez. Arsenal was the other club who were in the race to sign this young center-back.
In his first press conference, United’s Dutch manager also expressed the desire of signing two more players to the team. According to various media reports, the red devils will sign one attacking player and one midfielder.
Lisandro Martinez was a regular face in the starting eleven of Ajax for the past 2 seasons. Young center-back had played football with fluidity under current red devils’ manager Ten Hag. Martinez is a serial winner who has won two league titles, one Dutch cup and a Dutch super cup with Ajax. He was also part of the Argentina football team which won the latest edition of Copa America.
As per Fabrizio Romano Manchester United has acquired the signing of Danish attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen. In this transfer window, Manchester United has already signed Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia who has already played two pre-season games against Liverpool and Melbourne Victory.
United is also keen to sign Dutch star midfielder Frenkie De Jong from FC Barcelona. Due to pending salaries from FC Barcelona, this deal has been stuck in a state of stalemate. But United is confident of signing a Dutch magician.
Reportedly former Ajax manager wants to reunite with Brazil magician Anthony. There are no reports of the Manchester club being in contact with Brazilian and his agent. Cristiano Ronaldo is also hoping for an exit from the red devils as they have failed to qualify for Champions League.
