New Delhi: On Monday, May 29th, the current Congress president, Mallikarjun Kharge, accused the BJP government of looting the people during its nine-year tenure. He specifically pointed out the impact of deadly inflation on the earnings of individuals. Kharge alleged that the government, through its arrogant claims, has completely plundered the people for the past nine years.
On May 26th, the BJP government completed its nine-year tenure at the centre level. The government celebrated the day by proclaiming the achievements brought about during these years. According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement, the country has witnessed significant changes, particularly in terms of all-round development as well as inclusive growth.
In response, the Congress leader, Mallikarjun Kharge, attacked the government via a tweet. He stated that the BJP had looted the people over nine years through deadly inflation. He argued that the impact of GST on people’s lives had been severe.
The adverse effects of GST were even reflected in the budget, making life difficult, he added. Furthermore, he condemned the fact that people were not experiencing any relief from the central government. Kharge made serious allegations against the BJP government.
He accused that from the BJP government’s ‘Acche Din’ to Amrit Kaal, inflation has risen, and the rate at which money is being grabbed from the common people has also increased day by day. On behalf of the Congress, as the opposition party, Kharge emphasized that the government should not only mark the day as an anniversary but also celebrate it as ‘Maafi Diwas’ (Apology Day).
The Congress party pointed out that upon the completion of nine years of governance, they wished to ask the government nine questions. These questions cover a range of issues that have emerged during this period.
The opposition party urged the government to provide answers regarding rising prices, unemployment, and the income of farmers, among others. Furthermore, the party also demanded an apology from the BJP government for their perceived betrayal during their time in power.
