Priya Vijan on her elimination from MasterChef India 7
MasterChef India has set a bar for its home cooks with its most difficult challenges, and it’s an edge-of-the-seat experience for the audience. The week started with the challenge for the contestants to test their culinary knowledge along with their cooking abilities, and the home cooks were further tested in the food truck challenge and later on with the identical dish challenge. Finally, the week concluded with the black apron challenge of swapping baskets.
The judges are on the hunt for the best dish in terms of T.I.P (Taste Innovation and Presentation) and the contestant Priya Vijan was eliminated after she did not meet the expectations of the judges in the pressure test.
In the black apron challenge on 10th February 2024, the contestants had to face the swap basket challenge where initially the basket selected by them had to be swapped with their fellow competitors and make a dish out of the swapped basket.
Talking about her journey in MasterChef India 7, ex-contestant Priya Vijan added, “MasterChef India has been an enormous experience for me.” I am privileged to be a part of such an acclaimed cooking reality show. The judges, chefs Ranveer Brar, Garima Arora, and Vikas Khanna, are exceptional mentors.
She further added, “I have gained a lot of experience from the judges, and my fellow home cooks have also been an invaluable source of knowledge.” I shall miss the show and face such challenges daily. “This show has provided me with immense culinary expertise, which will prove beneficial for my future aspirations.”
Priya Vijan is from Bangalore and she was called the ‘Power Plant Girl’ by the judges as she was promoting veganism and plant-based food. Her motive in the show was to portray that nutritious food can also be tasty and delicious. She was the only vegan girl on the show.
Priya has a long list of health issues and she is also lactose intolerant (it’s a condition in which a person is unable to fully digest the sugar often referred to as lactose in milk and as a result, they suffer from indigestion, gas, and bloating after consuming dairy products) she further added: “when traditional medicine didn’t help, I turned to the plants in my backyard and found relief.”
With each passing week, the show is raising the bar with its difficult challenges for the home cook and the audience is having a nail-biting treat with each passing episode.
