A message was received on WhatsApp from Mumbai police traffic control warning of a 26/11-like attack. The message was sent by a Pakistan-based phone number.
Two days ago, a boat loaded with weapons was found off the coast of Raigad, Maharashtra, which triggered a terror scare in the state. On Saturday, Mumbai police received a text message threatening a 26/11-like attack, people familiar with the matter said.Â
The message was sent from a Pakistan-based phone number to the Mumbai Police traffic control line via WhatsApp. According to reports, the message also warned that the terror operation would be executed by six people. The Mumbai Police have roped in other intelligence and central agencies.
In the 26/11 attack, more than 150 people were killed by 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in a series of attacks across different locations in Mumbai.

Earlier, a weapons-loaded boat was seized by police off the coast of Raigad, Maharashtra. Three AK-47s, along with ammunition, were found on the boat. Some locals saw it and alerted the local police. After the report was confirmed, a team from the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) reached the spot.Â
The Union home ministry was also informed of the case. As soon as the news of the incident came out, the incident sparked a terror scare in the state.
It was reported by the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, that the boat belonged to an Australian couple. He further reported that the boat is registered in the United Kingdom and that no terror angle seems to be there.Â
Fadnavis informed us that the boat was to sail from Oman but drifted towards Indian waters due to bad weather and was thus abandoned.
“A boat with three AK-47 rifles was seized. An investigation is underway. We have retrieved some papers from the boat. More things are lying inside the boat, “ATS chief Vineet Agrawal had said. An FIR under sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against unidentified persons. “
