KCR questioned PM Modi, why he was attempting to overthrow democratically elected state governments in order to seize greater authority at munugode assembly
On Sunday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao mounted a vicious attack against the BJP, claiming that it had planned to overthrow the TRS government by attempting to buy its members. Telangana’s chief minister KCR remarked at a meeting in Munugode assembly that “Telangana’s self-respect is not for sale” after Cyberabad Police detained three people on suspicion of attempting to bribe four TRS MLAs at a farmhouse in Moinabad, on Wednesday night.
A mass rally at Munugode Assembly
The CM held his first mass rally at Munugode assembly, where a bypoll is scheduled for November 3, and played up the “Telangana sentiment” even though he had never campaigned in the preceding bypolls at Dubbaka, Huzurabad, and Nagarjuna Sagar.
At the mass gathering, KCR referred to the four MLAs as P Rohit Redy, G Balraj, Harvardhan Reddy, and R Kantha Rao, saying, “These four MLAs of my party are with me. Dealers sent from Delhi offered them crores of rupees to change allegiance, but they declined. Telangana’s flag of self-respect is shown here. These are the actual political leaders”.
The TRS leader hinted that top BJP figures were engaged in “Operation Lotus,” which aimed to undermine his administration. KCR questioned, why the PM was promoting the defection of elected members of other parties and stated that such politics is bad for the nation, claiming that the operation to entice the four TRS MLAs was carried out with the assistance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the RSS.
TRS accused PM Modi
He said, “They came to purchase our self-respect, but they are now behind bars.” KCR stated that Modi is the country’s prime minister, which is a tremendous accomplishment for anyone as there is no position greater than this in the nation. Further, he interrogated why the second-term Modi was attempting to overthrow democratically elected state governments in order to seize greater authority.
“Why are state governments being treated so cruelly? How much more power do you need, and did you know this was happening? They came to Hyderabad to plot to overthrow my government and work for you and RSS leaders, but they are now in jail,” he claimed.
As in his typical style, KCR made a joke, telling the crowd to vote wisely and consider the bribery issue, saying that “if donkeys are fed grass to milk cows, you won’t get anything.”
KCR criticized Modi and the government at the center, for adding 5% GST to handlooms. In the Munugode constituency, there are a lot of handloom weavers. Everyone is being punished by Modi’s tax and GST policies. He questioned, “Why should you or anyone vote for the BJP.”
