Music Bank in Chile took place on November 12 from 8 pm local time but was canceled midway through the performances due to the extreme weather conditions. Around 50,000 fans gathered at the Estadio Monumental Stadium to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Music Bank in Chile. As the weather conditions worsened and it started raining cats and dogs accompanied by a hailstorm, the performances of groups like TXT, ATEEZ, and NCT DREAM were called off due to safety concerns.
Worsening Weather Conditions
The event was supposed to be a part of the first Music Bank Tour after three years of hiatus due to Covid-19. Unfortunately, it started raining right from the start though the management decided to continue with the event. The management decided to do so despite the rain for the sake of the 50,000 attendees waiting eagerly for their favorite idols to perform. However, following STAYC and THE BOYZ, who somehow managed to perform in the worsening conditions, the weather became harsh to the point of being unsafe.

The next performers, (G)I-DLE had a hard time keeping their eyes open and executing the dance moves. As a result, (G)I-DLE’s Shuhua ended up slipping and falling during the performance of “LATATA” and their performance had to be halted mid-way before the situation got worse. The remaining groups such as TXT, NCT DREAM, and ATEEZ were unable to perform and showed up on stage to greet their fans, thanked them for coming to the event, and apologized for not being able to show the performances they had prepared.
Idols Responses
Briefly afterward, idols took to their social media handles to apologize again for the unfortunate events. Jisung of NCT Dream wrote on Kwangya Club to address the fans, “To everyone who came to ‘Music Bank,’ please be careful not to catch a cold. When we went [on stage] for our greetings, there were so many fans who were crying that I felt terrible…”. Yeonjun of TXT tweeted in Spanish and apologized, “I wanted to show you an amazing performance. I’m really sorry. Next time, I will show you a great performance. I’m sorry, and I’m grateful to the fans who have been waiting for us. And I love you.”
What Did the Fans Miss at the Music Bank in Chile?
It has been revealed that ATEEZ was set to perform PSY’s “Right Now” which they were eager to share with their fans. Not to mention, TXT was supposedly practicing their respected seniors BTS’ “Boy In Luv” for their special stage without their member Taehyun who was diagnosed with Covid-19 at the time and has since recovered. To the delight of everyone, SF9’s Rowoon hosted the much-awaited event.
Fans’ Responses
The fans have been nothing but supportive of the idols and have even shown concern, especially for the groups that performed during the worsened conditions. Many (G)I-DLE fans were worried after seeing Shuhua fall during the performance. The clips of Shuhua falling have concerned the fandom as they hope the idol is alright and did not suffer any serious injuries.
Some even applauded the group for performing in such harsh conditions for the fans’ sake and acknowledged their professionalism. Fans of groups who were unable to perform took to social media to reassure their idols that there was no need for an apology from their side as it was not their fault. Many believe it is a relief that no one got seriously injured and the fans have promised to wait to meet the idols again in better circumstances.
