Tirupati: Worried about increasing FIRs and “evil-omen-linked” incidents, the police of Allagadda in Kurnool district have performed a special Shanti puja to impress the Almighty to keep the laws and orders in control.
The puja was performed at the campus of Allagada police station and the video of the priest offering prayers went viral on social media. In the video, a priest was observed chanting the mantras, and the policemen folding their hands were following the chants at the Allagada police station in Kurnool.
Few people believed that an ’ominous’ power was prevailing in the town. This puja is said to have been performed on Sunday, but it came into notice on Tuesday when the viral video caught the attention.
So, the local priest was called in. A ‘Shanti puja’ and other rituals were conducted at the Kurnool police station and there was participation from all the staff members.
Cops expect a fall in crime rates after conducting puja
However, the sources said there was a rise in the number of cases registered at Allagada police station. Moreover, a police constable was bitten by a snake last week. A man near Padakandla attacked and injured people. There were also cases of girls being kidnapped. Political opposition-related cases were also seen rising.
The police had done a puja and a homam at the police station, following the advice of the local pujaris. They were praying for peace and unity in the area.
Now, the incident has become a controversial issue among the residents of the town. The senior officers are uncommunicative of the puja that was held inside the police station.
