Odisha CM condemns the attack
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the unfortunate demise of Minister Naba Das. The statement issued by the Odisha CMO said, “he was an asset to both the government and the party.” “His demise is a great loss to the state of Odisha.”
He also condemned the attack on the Health Minister. Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had reached the hospital to meet Health Minister Naba Das. After meeting with the Health Minister, he said that the Crime Branch has been instructed to take over the investigation of the matter. CM had informed the media that the health minister’s condition is critical.

ASI Gopal Das arrested, probe on
In response to the occurrence, a team from the Odisha crime branch led by a senior police official travelled to Brajarajnagar in the Jharsuguda district.
Gupteshwar Bhoi, the SDPO for Brajrajnagar, was notified that the accused ASI had been taken into custody and was being questioned. The minister was shot at by Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) Gopal Das, the SDPO informed reporters. The minister was injured in the attack by two gunshots to the chest, and he was rushed to the hospital. Bhoi said that the accused ASI was apprehended by locals, who then turned him over to the police. More information will emerge only after a comprehensive investigation of the event, he added. A probe is already underway to determine why the ASI fired at the minister.
Following the attack on Das, tense conditions prevailed throughout the city. Supporters of the minister questioned his “security breach.” A conspiracy to attack Das, according to some followers, was allegedly planned. Minister Das was seen bleeding from his chest and unconscious in a video of the recent event. The minister was lifted by the locals and made to sit in the front seat of the car in the footage. The minister was airlifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar for “better care,” the SDPO claims, after initially being transported to the Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital.
Following the event, the statement of the accused ASI’s wife came to light. She stated that Gopal Das was under treatment for a mental condition. She stated that Gopal had made a video call to their daughter just prior to the event. She claimed that she was unaware of what had occurred. “I only heard about this incident from the news. Even Gopal and I have not spoken since the morning. She stated that he hadn’t returned home in the last five months.
