The funds that are obtained via this endeavor will be donated to a non-governmental organization (NGO) that promotes the education of young women.
Shashi, played by Sridevi, is the protagonist of the film English Vinglish. Throughout the course of the film, she is made fun of for her inability to speak English, so she decides to teach herself the language. After an absence of fifteen years, Sridevi made her debut on the silver screen with this film.

Gauri Shinde has divulged some information on the preparations she has in store for the big day. The film’s director mentioned in an interview that she intends to put up for auction the sarees that Sridevi wore in the movie.
“On October 10, as part of our celebration of English Vinglish’s first decade, we will be hosting a screening in the Andheri neighborhood of Mumbai. The idea is for us to hold a screening, invite others to attend, and then have a discussion on the movie after everyone has had a chance to see it. In addition to that, we are going to sell off her sarees, which I have carefully stored away up until this point.
Sridevi made her comeback to the film industry as a small business owner who produces snacks fifteen years after her successful film Judaai. However, her husband and children make fun of her since she is unable to speak or understand English. English Vinglish was inspired by Gauri’s mother.
Following the tremendous success of her comeback film, English Vinglish, Sridevi went on to feature in a variety of films, including the Tamil fantasy action-adventure picture Puli and the Hindi murder thriller Mom. In February of 2018, she took her own life. Priya Anand, Adil Hussain, and the French actor Mehdi Nebbou were the other actors that appeared in English Vinglish.
In the Hindi version of the film and the Tamil-dubbed version of the film, respectively, megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Ajith Kumar appeared in cameo roles. After the success of English Vinglish, Gauri Shinde went on to make another critically praised film titled Dear Zindagi. This time, the film starred Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan.
