According to Forbes’ list, billionaire Gautam Adani is now the second-richest person in the world. He narrowly edged off Bernard Arnault, the CEO of Louis Vitton, to accomplish the accomplishment. The 60-year-old businessman has surpassed billionaires like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Jeff Bezos, the founders of Amazon, Microsoft, and Berkshire Hathaway.
Adani’s net worth has increased by 3.49 percent to over 12 lakh crore, according to the Forbes Billionaires List. Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, has a greater net worth than him ($273.5 billion). Musk made $789 million, but is currently locked in a protracted legal battle with Twitter over his decision to back out of the $44 billion purchase.
The only billionaires in the top 10 list who have seen their net worth increase are Adani and Musk.
The Group, the largest port operator in the nation, was co-founded by Gautam Adani. The organisation is reputed to be India’s largest coal trader. Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries, is the only other Indian in the top 10, and he has a $92 billion net worth. Ambani has surpassed Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, whose Reliance Jio is scheduled to provide standalone 5G services in a few Indian cities by Diwali. Ambani’s net wealth, however, decreased by $2.8 billion.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos each lost 1.50 lakh crore on Wednesday. Adani and Ambani, though, were the only winners among the top 10.
