Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO scientists involved in the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission to the Moon in Karnatata’s Bengaluru after landing on Saturday morning. In order to greet PM Narendra Modi, local artists in Bengaluru play dhol and dance on the streets near HAL airport.
Addressing a large gathering outside the HAL airport, Modi raised the slogan “Jai Vigyan Jai Anusandhan”. Outside Bengaluru’s HAL airport, PM Modi commented, “I could not stop myself as I was not in the country, but I decided to visit Bengaluru first and meet our scientists soon after visiting India. Around 7.30am, Modi arrived at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC).
Modi announces 23 August as National Space Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared August 23 as “National Space Day” on Saturday. Chandrayaan-3 accomplished a successful soft landing on the moon’s south pole on August 23.
“In the modern era, the nation that advances in science and technology will be writing the history…The day that our Chandrayaan-3 lander touched down on the moon, August 23, will be recognised as National Space Day in order to inspire the next generation to explore careers in science, technology, and space,” Prime Minister Modi stated. Further he added,“We have our national pride placed on the Moon. This feat is unprecedented! This is today’s India, the BOLD AND BRAVE India.”
Meets ISRO’s women scientists
Announcing that Chandrayaan-3’s landing spot on the moon will be known as “Shivshakti,” Prime Minister Modi praised the contributions of female scientists for the successful space mission and the project’s successful completion. “Women scientists played a significant part in Chandrayaan 3; this ‘Shivkshakti’ point will motivate future generations to apply science to improve human welfare. The welfare of the people is our first priority, according to PM Modi. In addition, he declared that the location of Chandrayaan-2’s impact will be referred to as the “Tiranga” point.
Modi gets emotional, salutes ISRO scientists
A speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given to the scientists from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who had been crucial to the Chandrayaan-3 undertaking. As he thanked the ISRO team’s scientists for the Chandrayaan-3 mission’s successful landing, PM Modi got emotional.

He also met the other key members who led the Chandrayaan 3 mission: project director Veeramuthuvel; M Sankaran, ; project deputy director Kalpana K; the director of UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru where the satellite was built; and M Srikanth, the mission director.
