According to police, Rohit Ranjan, anchor at Zee News, was held by Noida police on Tuesday in relation to a case brought against two of his coworkers. Police are questioning Ranjan right now.

A retired senior producer and a rookie producer were named in a complaint made on Sunday on behalf of Zee Media Corporation about the suspected doctoring of a video of Zee News Congressman Rahul Gandhi.
Ranjan was taken to be questioned by the Noida police
On Tuesday morning, the Chhattisgarh Police also showed up at the news anchor’s Indirapuram home in Ghaziabad with a warrant for her arrest regarding the suspected doctoring of a film of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, high drama broke out. Around 6.15 am, Ranjan tweeted that officers from the Chhattisgarh Police had arrived at his home to make an arrest without first contacting the neighbourhood police. Additionally present were the Ghaziabad police.
After that, Ranjan was taken to be questioned by the Noida police over the allegation against his coworkers. A former senior producer and a trainee producer were the targets of the complaint, which was made on Sunday at the Sector 20 police station by B R Venkatraman on behalf of Zee Media Corporation.
Tuesday morning, the event was discussed by a circle officer at Indirapuram – Abhay Kumar Mishra, who stated, “We received a call from residents of the building complaining that 15-20 men snatched the phone of the security guard and made him sit in a corner. These men Zee News then tried entering Ranjan’s house. We sent a team who then found that the men are from Chhattisgarh Police. They were not wearing uniforms and did not have name tags. There was chaos. After some time, Noida police came and said they would take Ranjan for questioning in a case.”
Rohit Ranjan then regarding his arrest said in a Twitter post: Chhattisgarh Police is standing outside my house to arrest me without informing the local police, is it legal?
Ranjan’s tweet was answered by a tweet from the Raipur police department’s account that read: “There is no such rule to inform. Still, now they are informed. The police team has shown you the court’s warrant of arrest. You should in fact cooperate, join in the investigation and put your defence in court”.
A senior police official at Sector 20 police station stated that Ranjan was being questioned in relation to the allegation against his former coworkers. A case has been filed, he continued, under section 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with utterances that incite hatred between classes or other forms of public mischief.
