Movie Review:
The movie Jana Gana Mana starts with the murder of a college lady professor at a well-known institution. ACP Sajjan Kumar(Suraj Venjaramoodu) takes the case for further investigation.
The movie highlights many questions for which we may or may not have answers. However, it certainly shows a proper picture of many social issues going on in our society, which are ignored very easily.
It is the story of power politics, misused for a selfish purpose, generating criminals. The movie has shown how politics plays a major part in making simple news very sensational.
When justice is meant to be equal for everyone, then why the discrimination happens. Why the court, does not practice equal justice for all citizens.
Due to this reason, the judicial system is being looked down upon by people and they start taking the law into their hands.
The movie is a true fiction directed by Dijo Jose Anthony. His first movie “Queen” in 2018 casting newcomers was a huge success. The film mixed college life with a strong social message and the legal procedures the students faced.
Jana Gana Mana is a movie with strong star cast as Prithviraj, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mamta Mohandas and many others. All the characters acted very well in the movie.
Especially, the role of Suraj Venjaramoodu as ACP and Prithviraj as a lawyer was outstanding. Mamta Mohandas as a professor and also an activist made her character very strong.
The screenplay and dialogues of the movie make us feel goosebumps sometimes. Although the movie was dragged a bit longer in the starting it made its pace when Suraj Venjaramoodu made his entry.
The movie was banned in many parts of North India, due to its strong message.
It should be a proud moment for the filmmakers for taking up such a bold story and presenting it without any fear of the consequences after its release.
The movie is made in such a way that message of the movie should reach every part of the country.
One must not avoid the last 45 minutes of the movie, as it unfolds the mystery with many twists and turns leading to a strong climax.
The film is overall a theatrical experience. It can be watched at least once by everyone.
