Priyanka Chopra Jonas pays a visit to Kenya as UNICEF’s global goodwill ambassador .
A video has been shared on the Instagram Handle of Priyanka Chopra Jonas in which a far-off medical facility where starving children were being assessed and treated could be seen.
Priyanka’s association with UNICEF
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been associated with UNICEF for almost one and a half decades. She, then, served as the National Ambassador for UNICEF India. Later, in 2016, Priyanka was appointed as the global goodwill ambassador of UNICEF for child rights.
Recently, as the ambassador, in the initial days of the month of August, Chopra visited the Education and Development Hub in Warsaw, Poland amid the high time of war between Russia and Ukraine.
Priyanka met the refugee mothers and children who shared their side of the stories of the war and the challenges faced by them.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas also uploaded another video in which she can be seen working for the outreach camp in Kenya for the children and the ones who take care of those children. Kenya is suffering from hunger-crisis and the actress has appealed to all the people out there to support UNICEF’s effort to help the Kenyans, which would also give them a chance to grow and all the other opportunities that the rest of the world have.

The actress can be seen in a blue UNICEF t-shirt with a cap. She was moving in and around the camp and was caught saying and focusing attention of the viewers on the current condition out there in Kenya because of frequent cases of malnutrition amongst the children.
Since, Chopra visited a treatment camp for the malnourished children, every possible arrangement could be seen in that video of Priyanka’s. Priyanka showed in the video, the area where the children’s body measurements were being noted and given the prescribed food by the health professionals.
Chopra could be seen in the clip distributing the ‘therapeutic sachets’ to the children ranging from severe – moderate malnourished.
Priyanka further added that it is high time that something should be done to empower the locals of the village and in order to implement that in action. She also shared a link of the fundraiser for helping the malnourished children to make them fully capable of their potential.
In the video, a glimpse of the demonstration of the ‘water distilling pill’ was also recorded, which is used to purify the river water. The pills were given to the children and to ensure the personal hygiene of the children, soaps and buckets were also being distributed.
The caption of the video highlighted the intensity of the situation in Kenya right now and how the indigenous people of the “Nangolekuruk” village are in urgent need of help.
This gesture of Priyanka Chopra got her appraisal for the selfless act she’s been involved in.
