Ronaldo manager Jorge Mendes reportedly offered the Portuguese star to Paris Saint-Germain but the French powerhouses declined the chance to pair the five-time Ballon d’Or winner with Lionel Messi.
PSG have broken the dreams of many football fans wanting to see two of the greatest footballers of this generation play together as they have turned down the offer to sign Ronaldo.
According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes offered the Portuguese international to Paris Saint-Germain. However, the French club isn’t keen on taking him. After being permitted to miss the current preseason tour by his current club Manchester United, Ronaldo’s future is still up in the air.
PSG have turned down the offer due to the shortage of wages as they do not have enough money to pay his bill. Mendes, who is good friends with Campos and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi offered Ronaldo to Club but was told that as of now, the Portuguese star does not fit into their plans both strategically and financially.
Additionally, reports are floating around that Bayern Munich has also turned down the offer of having Ronaldo’s services in their camp. Also, Mendes and new Blues owner Todd Boehly met to discuss Ronaldo’s future. As of now, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is not interested in signing the former Juventus star.
Christiano Ronaldo, who is also known as Mr Champions League, would not want to miss this year’s champions league tournament as he has always been the star performer. Hence, he is looking for a club that can fulfil his ambition of playing Champion League, as Manchester United had failed to qualify for this year’s European tournament.
Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag, who was asked whether he would let Ronaldo leave, replied: “No, we are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season, and that’s it, and I’m looking forward to working with him. I have read, but what I say, Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans, and we want success together”.
