Purpose of the schools
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the main purpose of the school was to help bright students of government schools to compete with private schools. He also added
“Those leaders wanted to give a push to their political career while compromising with the future of students from weaker and underprivileged sections. Owing to regressive policies of these leaders, the state lagged in health and education,” the CM said.
The Cm also shared that 36 teachers have been selected to go to foreign for training.
Taking a leaf from the Delhi Model
In Delhi, the Aam AadmiParty led government has already opened 46 schools of specialized Excellence.
Delhi government has integrated the IB learning education pattern which is one of the top education curricula across the world.
The education curriculum follows an entirely different pattern of evaluation as the students are not evaluated on the basis of one exam but are analyzed on the basis of their performance over the year.
Such an education practice has helped increase switchovers from private schools to Government schools in Delhi. Students are also enjoying their studies over there as they get a lot of variety to study. If implemented everywhere this curriculum has the power to change learning from rot to understanding-based.
Delhi’s directorate of education also organizes competitions related to robotics to generate more interest from the students.
This year from the Delhi government schools around 1000+ students qualified for both JEE and NEET.
The road ahead for Punjab
Punjab government has been the brunt of Huge Debt left by its previous predecessors due to which it will be key to see how they manage to spend and manage their budget.
