Nature owns us with no explanation. We need to learn about it and follow it. Computing is the future.
Before going to quantum computing let’s have an overview of the quantum computer.
Quantum computers are advanced machines inspired by quantum physics.
The study of the behaviour of atoms and particles. It is regularly different from our normal computers or supercomputers. It is an upgraded version of the supercomputer but not exactly the same.
Just like a light bulb is not the upgraded version of the candle. You can’t just build a light bulb by combining a lot of candles. A light bulb is a different technology (a scientific technology). It has tremendous speed.
Its aim is to revolutionise the computer system in the future just like other revolutions. Quantum Computers have the potential to impact our lives in so many ways:
- Teleportation etc.
For example – it can be used to create an encryption key for 2 places. It could be difficult to copy the key because of quantum uncertainty. They have to break the laws of quantum physics. This system is already tested by many companies and banks like JPMorgan, BARCLAYS, WELLS FARGO, etc. Due to its benefits, it is connected to 17Bn devices around the globe.
Just imagine how easy our work will become in the future because of quantum Computers.
Quantum computers are the future of the Gen Z generation. Its research is still going on in the business field. Big MNCs like Google and Microsoft are planning to build Quantum computing tools.
Normal computers use bits that are 0 &1. Quantum computers have Qubits which contain multiple values of 0 & 1.
They are the system’s possible state. In quantum computers, qubits don’t need to have either 1 or 0. They can be in any preposition called Superposition.
By 1 or 0 to the photon, it has to decide whether to send it vertically or horizontally. So, the possibility to predict whether it is 1 or 0 is Null. As you can’t predict till it is a superposition. Its identity is un-spectral.
The superposition concept is a game changer! A million combinations can be stored at one time. Entanglement occurs by changing the property of the partner qubit.
Entanglement is the correlation of superposition and interference. Qubit manipulation is a mind-boggling game as well.
Quantum Computing is a type of computation or automation whose operations use quantum physics mechanisms like superposition, interference, and entanglement.
IBM has built a quantum computer. Now you don’t have to play a flip coin game on supercomputers. Quantum computers will win all the games just lose a few because of operational errors. It seems like magic but it’s quantum physics.

If regular supercomputers are cars, then quantum computers are rockets!
If you want to go to Mars, you have to take a rocket. You can’t go on Mars even by gearing your car 100x times. If we have a quantum computer with 300 qubits, it will have more memory capacity than the total number of atoms in the entire universe.
Even if you take all the atoms, and electrons of the galaxy to build a regular computer, it will still not have the power to compete with 300 Qubits or a quantum bit of quantum computer.
We are likely to have this in the next 10 years. During covid-19, google achieved what is called a “Quantum Supremacy” of 53 qubits, and the calculation they possessed was something far larger>>> than the normal/regular supercomputer.
This is a scientific fact, not fiction! Science has the power in which we are gonna live. We are in the 1950s of quantum computers. It has just started from A. Till it will take time for building. But since it is 21 century, everything is fast. Innovation is fast.
Getting resources available is fast, unlike in earlier times. In 1950, we couldn’t imagine Facebook or Instagram but still, it happened. The same goes for Quantum computers. It looks OFF right now but will impact tremendously.
It has become a technical race. Big companies like IBM, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Alibaba, etc. all have large groups working on this. There are Tons & Tons of start-ups working on this.
If we know a little bit of programming, we can build our own Quantum Computer. IBM has made 5 qubits of Quantum Computing available open source.
There is a web interface made available with tutorials and fun.
Beyond this Quantum Computers or Quantum physics are weird and great. They are great because they are weird. Be prepared for a future that is a lot more interesting and a lot more quantum than you previously expected.
