Following a successful knee surgery, all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja will shortly begin recovery. Jadeja suffered a knee injury earlier on Saturday, and as a result, he was disqualified from the ongoing Asia Cup 2022.
This announcement was made by Indian head coach Rahul Dravid prior to India’s Super Four match against Pakistan. It was reported that Axar Patel, another bowling all-rounder, will take his position.
On Tuesday, Jadeja posted on Instagram to let everyone know that his surgery went well and that he will shortly begin his recovery.
“The surgery was successful. There are many people to thank for their support and involvement – BCCI, my teammates, support staff, physios, doctors and the fans. I will start my rehab soon and try to get back as soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes,” said Jadeja in the post.
Before getting hurt, Jadeja was having a strong Asia Cup 2022. He scored a match-winning 35 in the opening game against Pakistan and finished with figures of 0/11 in two overs. He did not bat in the following game against Hong Kong, although he did take 1/15 with the ball and played excellent fielding.
The top all-arounder is currently having a strong 2022, both with the bat and the ball. Jadeja has scored 201 runs in eight innings, at an average of 50.25, in nine T20Is this season. This year, his top individual score in the format is 46*. In addition to this, he has taken five wickets, with his highest total being 1/15.
He has scored 328 runs in five innings at an average of 82.00 in three tests this year. In the lengthier version of the game this year, he has blasted two centuries. His top performance was a 175* against Sri Lanka earlier this year.
In this format, he has also claimed 10 wickets, with a best of 5/41. He has 36 runs in two innings at an average of 36.0 in three ODIs this season. His greatest format score thus far this year is a 29. In this format, he has also taken a wicket.
