On 9th September, Realme launched another series of its 5G device, the updated version of the Realme 8 5G.Â
Realme 8s 5G, price and variants
In India, Realme 8s 5G model starts with Rs. 17,999/-. And the price goes on with variations of Ram and Storage. Starting with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is 17,999/- the model goes up to 128 of storage with 8GB RAM combination, which is 19,999/-Â
And about the colour variant, there are two variations; Realme 8s 5G comes in Universe Blue and Universe Purple.
Structure and Design of Realme 8s 5G
The Realme 8s 5G doesn’t look different from the 8 5G model launched in April.
This 8s model has a 6.5-inch display, a camera hole in the top left corner and thin bezels. The fingerprint isn’t up on the screen, and it is side-mounted. Volume buttons are also there with effortless touch. The model has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Speakers are moderate, in my opinion, not so good. Realme 8s 5G comes with a USB Type-C port, and on the top, there’s a secondary microphone.Â
Realme 8s 5G Features
The display in Realme 8s 5G is 6.5 inches, and the display is Full-HD+ resolution, and the refresh rate is 90Hz. For Realme, 90Hz is kind of shocking because the more available and lower-priced Realme Narzo 30 pro has a 120Hz refresh rate in it. Coming to the SIM, the Realme 8s 5G has dual 5G slots, also 4G VoLTE connectivity.
It does have Bluetooth, just like any other model. The version of Bluetooth that Realme has to offer is 5.1. Other than Bluetooth, there’s a Wi-Fi ac, and there are six satellite navigation systems in the model.Â
Realme 8s 5G performance
The Realme 8s 5G is a multitasking device with thousands of features in it. So, as per my experience, I think it can do moderate-heavy work throughout the day. The phone doesn’t get much warmer. It can take medium workloads, and the 33w Dart charger keeps the phone going on for at least up to 18hours.
Realme 8s 5G has got a 5000mAh battery which is so fascinating considering the price of it. The phone takes up to one hour to get 100 per cent in its shell. Realme 8s 5G has a fantastic game space feature of UI.Â
UI feature allows all the users to reject incoming calls automatically and block every notification during your work. So, if you activate it while you are busy, your device won’t be disturbing you. It’s the best feature I have ever experienced.Â
Camera features
Realme didn’t upgrade the camera much. The phone has got three primary cameras expected, so it says a lot about the phone.
It says that Realme is not now working upon camera up-gradation. Realme added 64-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel B&W portrait camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The camera app has toggles for HDR and AI Scene Enhancement and different filters that you can apply before taking a photo.
Conclusion
Like every gadget brand, Realme also keeps popping up with new updates, which is disturbing, but it’s pretty suitable for those who want to experience new features. Realme 8s 5G is good enough for students looking to buy a new phone, and I am saying because I am a student too, and I found it acceptable.
However, I wouldn’t recommend you to buy it if you’re into photography because I feel like it’s not for passionate photography. The triple camera setup is pretty good, but I would have preferred an ultra-wide-angle camera over the macro camera.
