The members of the Andhra Pradesh cabinet handed in their resignation on Thursday, 7th April 2022. The resignation was followed by the dissolution of the cabinet. The cabinet was dissolved by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy. The committee consisted of 24 members in total.
Reddy, at the start of his tenure, had stated that he aimed to revamp his team of cabinet ministers entirely. He claimed to do this after two and a half years into power. The cabinet is scheduled for are-shuffling.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said that he will hand in a list that will consist of the names of the new ministers. The list will be handed to the Governor. It will be submitted on 8th April 2022. The Andhra Pradesh Ministerial cabinet is in the process of getting revamped.
The cabinet consisted of 24 members. Out of the total number of members, only 4 remained in power. A list consisting of the names of ministers who handed in their resignation was also submitted by Reddy.
He met Biswabhusan Harichandran on Wednesday at Rajbhavan. “All 24 ministers resigned. Our focus is on strengthening the party ahead of the 2024 elections.” added the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
Reddy came into power as Chief Minister on 30th May 2019. He had claimed at that time that he wanted to revamp his ministerial team. The re-shuffling was meant to take place in December of 2021.
However, it was postponed due to the Pandemic. He stated that the new members of the cabinet would be experienced ministers. The incumbent cabinet had been in power since 2019. They bagged 151 seats in the assembly of total of 175 seats.
