SS Rajamouli’s RRR was nominated in two categories and won the best original song at Golden Globes Awards.
RRR at Golden Globes
The awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles. The 80th annual Golden Globe Awards take place Wednesday in Los Angeles. Indian Film RRR was nominated for his two divisions at the Globe Awards (Best Original Song and Best Non-English Film). Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film was a huge hit in the US after being released in Hindi on Netflix. It won the Globe Award for Best Original Song but lost in the Non-English Film category. The Banshees of Inisherin received eight nominations at the ceremony, with Colin Farrell and Martin McDonagh winning.
It was announced that Eddie Murphy and Ryan Murphy have each won the awards respectively. RRR has come, seen and conquered at the Golden Globes. SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster won Best Original Song with Naatu Naatu, one of his two categories nominated. He missed out on the Best Non-English Film Award, which Argentina won in 1985 from Argentina. Other candidates in this category are Quietly on the Western Front (Germany), Shut Down (Belgium), and Decide to Leave (South Korea).
RRR will represent its director and stars his SS Rajamouli, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan at the Golden Globe Awards, along with his wife his Upasana Kamineni. Jr NTR and Ram Charan play the role of freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju in the period drama, which was set in the British era in the 1920s. The film cast includes Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn as well as British actors Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.RRR, which made over Rs 1,200 crore globally, has already won a lot of international awards including Best Director at the New York Film Critics Choice awards.
RRR was nominated for various Oscar categories as well and is expected to be nominated in at least one category if not more.The Golden Globes awards are being held in Los Angeles with comedian Jerrod Carmichael as host. The awards return to the Hollywood mainstream after making internal reforms after getting criticised for its allegedly racist and sexist voting practices. Last year Golden Globes were boycotted by NBC, which broadcasts the show, and many of Hollywood’s big stars led by Tom Cruise who returned his three Globes. Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to congratulate SS Rajamouli on winning the Gloden Globe Awards for Best Original Song.
The filmmaker previously expressed his wishes to the Bollywood superstar upon the release of the trailer for Pattern: SS Rajamouli praised Shah Rukh Khan for his Pathaan trailer. In response to his tweet, the superstar wrote: Moreover, he won many awards and made India proud(sic). He thanked his fans all over the world for all the love. He took the opportunity to praise SS Rajamouli’s vision. “This award belongs to my brother SS Rajamouli,” said Keeravani, thanking the filmmakers for their support. RRR has been loved all over the world by millions of people of its story and for the acting of lead actors.
He also thanked Prem Rakshit and Kala Bhairava, lyricist Chandra Bose and his NTR, and Ram Charan, who “danced with all his might.” Finally, he thanked his wife, Srivalli. Before making history by winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, RRR Team’s Ramcharan Jr. NTR and director SS Rajamouli stepped onto the red carpet for the Golden Globe Awards in style. Ram Charan treated his Insta family with a bright photo from Los Angeles, where you can see SS Rajamouli in a black tuxedo and Jr. NTR looking trendy.
