Russian President Valdmir Putin declares that enemy countries will think twice before attacking Russia now.
On Wednesday, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia declared that Russia has successfully tested missiles. The missile that was tested is the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile. Mr. Putin added that Russia’s nuclear weapons would make other countries “think twice” before attacking Russia.
Western analysts have dubbed the new missile Satan 2. It is one of the latest technology missiles in Russia. The other next-generation missiles in Russian possession include Avangard and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. Russia announced that it had used the Kinzhal missile last month in the war with Ukraine. Russia terms the war a “special military operation” and it has been going on since 24th February.
Putin congratulated the army on the successful launch of the intercontinental missile Sarmat, during a televised address. The weapon would strengthen Russia’s attacking capabilities. “This truly unique weapon will strengthen the combat potential of our armed forces, reliably ensure the security of Russia from external threats and make those who, in the heat of aggressive rhetoric, try to threaten our country, think twice,” the Russian leader declared.
Sarmat Testing
The tests were conducted in the northern Russian region of Plesetsk cosmodrome and were successful as per the statement released by the defence ministry.
The missile was able to deliver training warheads to the Kamchatka peninsula’s Kura test range. This is situated on the eastern side of Russia. The defense ministry of Russia declared that Sarmat is the best long-range missile in the world. It will give Russia an advantage in nuclear combats.
The missile is carefully designed to break through anti-missile defence systems. This is done with the help of an initial boost phase. It is only during this very short boost phase can the defence systems of the country which is being attacked trace the entry of the missile.
