RUSSIA UKRAINE UPDATES ramping up its offensive against Ukraine
Fresh missile attacks were witnessed in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv cities in Ukraine recently and at least one person was killed, reported by officials in Ukraine, Ukraine`s nuclear operator Energo atom further blames Russia for kidnapping its deputy director of the Power plant.
Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi on his phone call with President Volodymyr Zelensky shared his thoughts and concerns on these attacks, Mario Draghi condemned these attacks and described them as ‘brutal’. Draghi further stated that these kinds of attacks are unacceptable, and will further aggravate the already tense situation between Russia and Ukraine. The Italian prime minister sent his sympathy towards the affected as was reported by the Italian PMO.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky on Twitter shared this conversation with Draghi and thanked him for consistent and strong support on the eve of important international events, including the G7 Summit.”
Ukraine’s president had told G7 members about the possibility of escalation from the Russian prime minister, Zelensky stated that the Russian prime minister who is the last leg of his rule wants to escalate this war and concrete his position. Zelensky emphasized this as a threat to all. Zelensky also criticized Russia for pulling in Belarus in this war and blamed Russia for provocation and preparing an attack on this country.
Zelensky urged all members of the G7 to support Ukraine by providing defence facilities. While meeting virtually he requested G& members to strengthen the overall efforts, financially to help create an air shield over Ukraine. He said millions of Ukraine citizens would be grateful to the group of 7 for such assistance.
Members of the G7 condemned the attack on the various parts of Ukraine city and promised to hold President Putin responsible for these horrible attacks.
In a talk with Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelenskyy, they said “We condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms and recall that indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilian populations constitute a war crime,”
NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg in his statement said that this ongoing war is a sign of weakness, and these are desperate measures by Russia because they are losing ground and are losing the battlefield. He also said that Russia is not able to accept its defeat and that is why it is reciprocating by attacking the country’s infrastructure and damaging its property.
