- On Wednesday, The UN [United Nations] human rights office said that it is confirmed that till now, 227 civilians had been killed and 525 injured in Ukraine through midnight on Monday following Russia’s invasion of its neighbour.
Russia reported its military casualties for the first time since the invasion began last week, saying nearly 500 of its troops have been killed and almost 1,600 wounded. Ukraine, however, claimed that over 7,000 Russian servicemen had been killed since last Thursday. It did not disclose its military losses but said more than 2,000 civilians had died.
