The Telugu actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is set to make her international debut with the film Arrangements of Love, an adaptation of the novel of the same name, written by novelist Timeri N Murari, directed by BAFTA-winning Welsh director Philip John.
He is best known for the 2010 British period drama series Downton Abbey. In the film, she will play the role of a bisexual character who runs her detective agency. Speaking about the film, the thrilled actress shared a post on her social media handle, making an official announcement about the film.
Samantha shared a photo with director Philip John and wrote, ”A whole new world opens up for me today as I start my journey with Arrangements of love which has such an endearing and personal story”.
The actresses also added that “I am excited to work with Philip John, whose projects I have closely followed for many years, being a big fan of Downtown Abbey. I am looking forward to collaborating with Sunitha once again, and I hope for only more success than we previously had with Oh! Baby.
My role is a complex character, and it will be both a challenge and an opportunity for me to play it. I cannot wait to get on set”. Samantha had to give an audition for this role. The actresses said that the last time she went for an audition was 12 years ago for the film Ye Maya Chesave.
In the picture which she posted with the veteran filmmaker, she wrote in the caption”, I last auditioned in 2009 for Ye Maya Chesave. Twelve years later, and auditioning again. I felt the very same nervousness.
I guess it’s not every day you get to audition for a BAFTA awarding, critically acclaimed director of your most favorite series Downtown Abbey”. She concluded the post with these words: “Jumping for joy that you picked me, sir Philip John … Thank you, Sunitha Tati and Guru Films, for the opportunity. Can’t wait to start this exciting journey”.
The actress has been congratulated by her colleagues in the comment section of the post. Actor Rashii Khanna wrote: “Yayy Congratulations, Sam. “Kajal Aggarwal added, “Amazing! Congratulations, Sam”. And more actors, directors, and loved ones had congratulated her in the post.
Last month the actress announced her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya after three years of their marriage. Although she is going through a rough patch in her personal life on the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be next seen in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhai and Shaakuntalam.
She had made her big digital debut with the Family Man 2, and she had made headlines for her role as Raji. She played the role of a Sri Lankan Tamil Liberation fighter in the series. She also received the Best Performance Female (series) in the 12taward h edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). She has also been starred in movies like Manam, Ye Maaya Chesave, Majili, Oh Baby, and Autonagar Surya.
