In a statement today, Sanjay Raut, the Shiv Sena MP, said his party remained hopeful that a few MLAs would return to the party ,the members who had left were still in contact with each other, he explained. Leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra said Devendra Fadnavis, who is the leader in Mumbai of the opposition, should not enter into the scandal engulfing the government. As Raut said, if the BJP stands up for Fadnavis and PM Modi, his party (BJP) will be tarnished, and their names will be tarnished too.”
As of Monday, Raut calls the summons issued to him by the Enforcement Directorate a “conspiracy,” which is to prevent him from taking on his political opponents and defending the country. “I am independent of every company mentioned by the ED and have no connection with them. There will be a rally in Alibaug tomorrow afternoon, which I have to address, so I cannot go to ED tomorrow. There has been some legal wrangling. Raut told the reporter, “If the BJP orders you to arrest me, take me away immediately.”.
Eknath Shinde, the leader of the Shiv Sena’s rebel group in Maharashtra, is understand to be strategizing to withdraw support from the MVA by approaching the Governor now that the Supreme Court has extended the deadline.
In a letter sent to the ED, Sanjay Raut’s lawyer asks for more time to appear before the agency.
According to a report from an official, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday requested the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to extend the time for his appearance concerning a money-laundering probe.
It was reported to ED that Rajya Sabha member Raut had been summoned on Tuesday to answer questions in connection with the investigation into Mumbai ‘chawl’ redevelopment and other financial transactions involved in the case involving his wife and friends.
Due to his planned visit to Alibaug (Raigad district), Raut could not make it to the ED’s office here on Tuesday because he was busy in Alibaug. His lawyer, as a result, reached the office here around 11.15 am and pleaded for more time.
As per the lawyer’s statement, Raut was requested to appear before the probe agency by the lawyer in a letter submitted to the ED officials. (PTI)
When Fadnavis joins… it will severely damage the reputation of Prime Minister Modi: Sanjay Raut.
Sanjay Raut, MP for the Shiv Sena, said Tuesday that Maharashtra’s Opposition Leader, Devendra Fadnavis, must not get involved in the crisis in the MVA government. It will damage the reputation of the party (BJP), Fadnavis, and PM Modi if they do it,” Raut said.
There are 116 MLAs in the opposition party, including Devendra Fadnavis. His work could have a significant impact on Maharashtra. He is capable of doing it, being a chief minister of the state. He had a vision when he was the chief minister of the state. But in the present day, whatever is transpiring in politics, we would think that Fadnavis shouldn’t participate in it, as I advised him as a friend. If he were to do that, then his party, his reputation, and Vice President Modi’s will be tarnished,” Raut said.
Sanjay Raut claims that a few rebel MLAs remain in touch… hoping they will return.
Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena MP, claimed once that there are still some MLAs whose families have remained in touch with them even though they are considered rebels. Their families are also in contact with us, and they are hopeful that they will return to us, he said on Tuesday.
