Sasha Banks and Naomi ‘walked out’ of Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, before to the match that was scheduled to take place on WWE Monday Night RAW. They said that they were upset about the fact that they were not being honored as the Women’s Tag Team Champions.
According to the reports, the two individuals entered the office of WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis with their baggage, laid their tag team championship belts on his desk, and then exited the building.
The two of them, along with Becky Lynch, Asuka, Doudrop, and Nikki A.S.H., were scheduled to compete in a six-pack challenge match at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event. The winner of the match would choose who would face Raw women’s champion, Bianca Belair, at the next pay-per-view event.
WWE issued a statement in which it indicated that both wrestlers were upset about the situation “The announcement that Sasha Banks and Naomi would be competing in the main event of tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw was made to both of them when they arrived at the arena this afternoon. During the show, they marched into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis’s office with their luggage in hand, dropped their tag team title belts on his desk, and walked out”.
“They argued that their status as tag team champions did not provide them sufficient respect. And despite the fact that they had eight hours to practice and create their battle, they said that they felt uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents, despite the fact that they had already competed against these persons in the past without any negative results. Monday Night Raw is a scripted live television program, and its characters are obligated to fulfill the terms of their contracts in order to continue appearing on the show”, the statement that was included.
In addition to this, Sasha Banks went ahead and unfollowed a few important WWE accounts on social media. She unfollowed the accounts of WWE, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, Bayley, Becky Lynch, The Usos, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns, as reported by wrestlinginc.com.
The former WWE Women’s Champion is only following a total of six accounts at this time. These include accounts belonging to Naomi, John Cena, Tamina Snuka, her cousin Snoop Dogg, and two fan accounts.
As for the match itself, the six-pack challenge was converted into a singles match, and it was fought between Becky Lynch and Asuka. Asuka emerged victorious from the match, and she is now the top contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.
