“They were in a live-in relationship since 2019, but it was a very turbulent one, and he assaulted her many times,” a friend of hers told The Indian Express. Their personalities were diametrically opposed; opposites attract. Finally, they decided to give it one more shot and travelled to Himachal Pradesh this year.

They decided to spend some time in Delhi after their trip to Himachal Pradesh, and I believe she was anticipating their anniversary on May 16.” Shradha Walkar , a Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) graduate, was working in a call centre in Malad when she met Aftab through the dating app Bumble in 2019. Shraddha was a Vasai resident who used to live with her mother, who died in 2020 and her younger brother. Her father did not accompany them. She left her home and moved in with Aftab in October 2019.
Her friends waited for her for two months, thinking she was healing from the breakup, but when she did not respond to their messages, they began looking for her and informed her father in September that they were unable to contact her. Her father approached the Vasai police, who transferred the complaint to the Manikpur police after hearing from her friends. The Manikpur police contacted the Delhi Police, who arrested and detained Aaftab.
