Sonali Phogat, Haryana BJP politician, Tiktok star, and a Bigg Boss contestant died in Goa on Tuesday morning. Goa police have registered the case of unnatural death, but her brother Rinku Dhaka filed a filed complaint against her two assistants claiming they murdered Sonali Phogat.
“She had been threatened, she was scared. Something had been added to her food after she complained of restlessness. It’s a murder… I want justice for her,” said Rinku Dhakka and demanded a first information report (FIR) before Sonali’s post-mortem.
In the complaint, her brother claimed that Sonali had a conversation with her mother, sister, and brother-in-law a few hours before her death on August 23. He also said that during the conversation she had complained about her assistant, where she told her mother “Mere pe kuchh saazish ho rahi hai (A conspiracy is afoot against me),” Her brother also said that Sonali was raped by her PA after adding drugs to her meal.
“She (Sonali) said Sangwan had given her food laced with some intoxicant, raped her and made a video, and was threatening her to make the video viral on social media,” claimed Rinku in the police complaint.
He also claimed that Sangwan threatened her of destroying her political and acting career and seized her phones, property records, and ATM cards.
Sonali’s nephew Moninder Phoget said, “hume shak nahi yakeen hai ki aisa hua hai unke saath” (we are sure that our sister was raped and murdered). On Tuesday morning, Sonali Phoget, the BJP leader of Hisar in Haryana was brought dead to St Anthony Hospital in North Goa’s coastal village of Anjuna. Meanwhile, her reports suggested she died of a cardiac attack.
Although Sonali’s family members are not satisfied with the post-mortem reports of Goa’s St Anthony Hospital, her brother said he will get her post-mortem done again in AIIMS, Delhi.
