South cinema Industry’s top film RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) directed by SS Rajamouli, has made a mark all over the world and has broken all the previous records internationally. Starring Ram charan as Alluri Sitarama Raju and Jr NTR as Komaram Bheem; the movie was released in March 2022 and is still in talks. Recently veteran actress Ratna Pathak slammed the movie saying that it looks backward while we should look forward.
Ratna Pathak’s opinion on south cinema’s top movie
The magnum opus film has received great appreciation from all over the world, it seems like everyone is with the popular opinion. The recent opinion shared by actress Ratna Pathak at a book launch event slams the movie. She says, “In today’s time films like RRR are so popular, however, it is a regressive film. The film looks backward, although we should look forward. One feels that whatever we are doing is good because we are part of the largest democracy, India, and unless directors can see their work critically, one will have to watch films like RRR.”While the film receives critics it receives appreciation also.
South’s top RRR grooming movie adding up to achievements
RRR is a worldwide released movie directed by SS Rajamouli who even directed the blockbuster franchise of Baahubali. Initially, the movie was launched in four languages but its roots have reached Japan as well. The movie has bagged the awards of 80th Golden Globe Awards in Best picture Non-English Language and Best original song Natu-Natu. The film has received 5 critic’s choice awards for best picture, best visual effects, best foreign language film, best director SS Rajamouli and best song Natu- Natu. It was even nominated for the 47th Saturn awards and won the Best International Film award
South cinema blockbuster RRR roars in Japan
RRR’s chaos has even pushed down its cinema-rooted movie in Japan. Megastar Rajinikanth’s movie Muthu was on top for 27 years in Japan. RRR has earned ¥ 403,406,680, outing the collection of Muthu which is ¥400 million. The number of box collections is still not official so it’s not clear that RRR crossed Muthu. RRR collected ¥35 million on its opening day and collected ¥72, 210, 7908 on day 1. While on the weekend it collected s¥14,017,680. The movie mostly grossed more in Australia and USA than the Baahubali itself. Even though Japan is not a market for Indian cinema still SS Rajamouli has taken the notch higher.

Jr NTR Tweeted, “Delighted that #RRRMovie has been nominated in two categories at the Golden Globe Awards! Congratulations to all of us… looking forward.” Alia Bhatt also reshared the post on her Instagram stories with heart emojis. The makers wrote, “We are very grateful to share that #RRRMovie made it to the nominations of #Golden Globes for the Best Picture- Non-English Language and the Best Original Song.” Ram Charan tweeted, “What a proud moment @ssrajamouli garu! Can’t wait to see you conquer world cinema. Bahubali’s actor Prabhas tweeted,” Honored that #RRRMovie bagged the Best Non-English Language Film and the Best Original Song nominations at the @golden globes awards! Congratulations team RRR.”

Shriya shares her views about RRR’s Oscar journey, “I feel it is a great film. I feel Rajamouli sir has done a great job. He has worked hard and I have seen him working like so all the time. And I feel the film like it should get all and whatever it deserves. “Director SS Rajamouli shared on his Twitter and wrote, “Thanks to the jury at Golden Globes for nominating RRR in two categories. Congratulations to the entire team…Thanks to all the fans and audience for your unconditional love and support throughout.”

Ram Charan and Jr NTR played the real-life freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The movie is based on a meeting of these two figures. It features Alia Bhatt in a cameo role as Sita, a supporter and love interest of Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan). Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn was also seen in a special appearance. The songs are composed by MM Keeravani. The movie has a box collection of Rs 1200 crores, written by V.Vijayendra Prasad, directed by SS Rajamouli, and produced by DVV Danayya.
